ABOUT ME
Vickie Kampe M.Ed, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor Penticton
Professional, Confidential, Experienced

Reaching out for counselling isn't always easy. You may be dealing with anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, or a challenging life transition for a while—or perhaps something has recently happened that has left you feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to figure it out on your own.
I'm Vickie Kampe, M.Ed., RCC #4593, a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Penticton, BC. I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and provide individual and couples counselling in Penticton and the South Okanagan, as well as online and telephone counselling options.
My approach to counselling
I believe counselling should be more than simply talking about what's wrong. While having a safe place to be heard and understood is an important part of therapy, I also want you to leave sessions with practical tools you can use in your everyday life.
My approach is skills-based, collaborative, and tailored to you. Together, we'll explore what's happening, understand patterns that may be contributing to your struggles, and develop strategies that can help you feel more confident managing difficult emotions, relationships, and life challenges.
There isn't one approach that works for everyone. That's why I draw from several evidence-based therapies and adapt them to your individual needs and goals.
Areas I can help with
I work with individuals and couples experiencing a range of concerns, including:
-
Anxiety, depression, and emotional distress
-
Trauma and difficult past experiences
-
Stress and difficulties with emotional regulation
-
Relationship challenges and communication difficulties
-
Substance use and problematic behaviours
-
Life transitions and significant changes
-
Coping with difficult emotions and life circumstances
-
Personal growth, self-awareness, and building resilience
Evidence-based therapy, tailored to you
My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Gottman Method for couples counselling.
These approaches can provide practical ways to understand thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and relationship patterns—and develop healthier ways of responding.
For example, CBT can help you recognize patterns in thinking and behaviour that may be contributing to distress. DBT offers practical skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and relationships. EMDR can support the processing of traumatic or distressing experiences, while the Gottman Method provides couples with tools to improve communication, connection, and relationship satisfaction.
What you can expect
My goal is to create a counselling environment where you feel safe, respected, understood, and supported without judgment.
We'll work together at a pace that feels manageable for you. Sometimes counselling involves looking at the past to understand where certain patterns began. Other times, the focus is on what you're experiencing right now and learning skills to help you move forward.
Ultimately, I want you to develop tools and insights that continue to serve you long after counselling ends.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you reach out. Taking the first step can simply mean recognizing that something isn't working and deciding that you'd like some support.
If you're looking for a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Penticton, BC, I welcome you to get in touch. Whether you're considering individual counselling, couples counselling, trauma therapy, or support with anxiety, relationships, or a difficult life transition, we can start by talking about what you're experiencing and what you hope to change.
